Installed this as a standalone dehumidifier for the house. Mounted in a laundry room that exits through a wall in a room that has the HVAC return. I think this works much better than connecting to the HVAC directly. It keeps the whole house at a set humidity level. So far so good.

Great product

We ordered an Aprilaire E070 Dehumidifier on a Thursday; follow-up emails (order confirmation, estimated shipping date, ETA, and actual delivery info) and a phone call from Mary Beth soon followed. Such outstanding efficiency and service is a rare and pleasant surprise these days! We're also very happy that we could buy a dehumidifier from a company that employs Americans and still makes their merchandise in the USA rather than from a nationally recognized company that outsources their labor and production services to foreign companies (e.g., China) and provides unreliable, faulty units -- a definite consideration in our purchasing decision. And the 5-year warranty was simply icing on the cake! As an added bonus, their comprehensive website is jam packed full of useful additional details and info. I installed it myself and it was a pretty straight forward process once I got all the necessary intake/exhaust ductwork, drain pipe and associated adapters (I had to modify the long 3/4” drain pipe from a previous Chinese-made product to 1" to accept the unit’s 3/4” drain tubing), and a platform in place. But working mostly on my back and side in a very cramped, humid crawl space with an uneven sandy base covered with plastic sheeting that had to be leveled for the platform and unit was a cumbersome, time-consuming job. Regardless, the unit is now up and running fine and has reduced the humidity in our crawl space by 14% in less than 24 hours. While this dehumidifier has a relatively steep up-front cost, I’m confident it’ll be well worth the price in the long run. Our only complaint was that when FedEx delivered the box, which had five large orange stickers on the four sides and top with arrows pointing up and a statement saying “this side up”, it was left at our door on its side, and the driver didn’t even ring the doorbell after leaving it! That complaint is on FedEx and not on Crawl Space Ninja. Overall we're happy campers looking forward to many years of reliable service from our dehumidifier and highly recommend this seller and unit.
